Yes, we have tried to do this with all of our clients. Several of our clients have been referred to specialists, most of those being ones that live in larger areas (Chicago, New York City, etc.). A lingering issue, of course, is that many people we have seen cannot identify a specialist in their area or cannot afford to pay for the follow-up therapy. Since we are a university clinic, the package we have set up (intensive plus telepractice) can be offered at a pretty affordable price. ALl that being said, I doubt we would refrain from suggesting that individuals pursue therapy with a specialist in their area, even if they could access our services.
