This is very interesting. I love the idea of the intensive therapy. I, personally, think intensive therapy is a really good way to work with people who stutter. I only wish it was more widely available. I agree it is difficult for people to get out of school/work to attend an intensive program. It may also be hard to travel a distance to for a program. I like that this program incorporates the client’s values and perspectives of treatment. I think this is very important information that should be considered when working with people who stutter, especially the clients who have had therapy in the past that has not been helpful to them. I think the telepractice may be a step in the right direction to help the clients continue to receive therapy after they have been through the program. Would it be possible to train more SLPs in this therapy and offer it in more locations? The program sounds neat and appears to be very beneficial. It would be nice if it were more readily available to people. Or perhaps the therapy could be offered in a variety of locations throughout the year and after a client has attended an intensive therapy, they would be able to receive additional therapy and support via telepractice. I am interested to see how this continues to unfold.
