Hi Tina, Great questions! I have had very young kids (5 yr olds) draw pictures of what they look like when they are stuttering and when they are not stuttering. Only one time did a boy refuse. We just let it go, he wanted to draw about his video game and then he drew what he looked like stuttering while playing his video game :). I think it helps if the therapist is also drawing, perhaps a picture of them doing something difficult or scary. Sometimes when you are working on art, the eye contact isn't as intense and that seems to help kids feel less "put on the spot"...thanks for the post, Julie
