Did having the opportunity to express her feelings through writing the book relieve the client’s anxiety about stuttering? During the NSA conference this past year, I attended a presentation in which an SLP discussed how children on her caseload told their stories through power points. They were able to express who they were and what they would like to tell their friends, teachers, and parents. They were able to express their feelings on the slides better than they could by other means. This process also aided the SLP in identifying areas in which the child was having difficulty and communication contexts that should be targeted.
