Great article! I found your paper very helpful and educational. At this time I have not met anyone who stutters although looking back I may have and not have been aware at the time. I understand that people who stutter tend to be either vocal about it or shy away from the topic. My question is, when meeting a person who stutters, how do you know the appropriate way to respond or not to respond to their disfluency? I have read that some people want you to ignore it and some want you to do something to take the pressure off them so they can be more fluent. How do you know what to do when first meeting the person? I don't want to offend anyone by doing the wrong thing but there is not a lot of information out there to educate people so that we all show each other respect and understanding.
