I loved this article. I remember using a segment of last year's paper for a discussion at my weekly support group meeting (of adults). We had a lively discussion about fluency shaping vs. work on attitudes and feelings. What I really liked about thus paper is the focus on "change takes time". As an adult PWS, it has indeed taken me a long time to aceceot my stuttering, and I still have moments that I hate it. But it is such an impaortant factor to consider. I will be teaming a parent support group this Fall, and I have already encountered a parent who was emotional and frustrated about how long it is taking her 11 y.o. to show sign of improvement. It definitely helps to reassure her, and others that it does take time, and I use my own story as an example. Thanks for such great insight. If you could only give one piece of advice to parents of a CWS, what would it be?
