Are those workshops just for SLP professionals, or can consumers attend too? Are they held in different cities each summer? What do you think of the idea of PWS themselves helping at workshops like these? When I did a workshop at NSA this summer, on being real and the emotions of stuttering, many SLPs told me it was one of the better workshops they had attended (it was a CEU offering through NSA, so that maybe why there was a lot of SLPs there!)because rarely do SLPs get to hear first hand from PWS how painful it can really be to accept stuttering, show it openly, and make yourself vulnerable. I just wondered how one of the experts here viewed that. Would it be "over stepping professional boundaries" since I or another PWS who is not an SLP has not had formal training.
