I received my BS from ASU and am now a first year graduate student at the UW-Stevens Point in WI. The only thing that these two programs have in common is that the future SLPs want to have fun! It is the primary source of our motivation to keep on going. School is tough; there are a lot of requirements that have to be fulfilled. If we don't make it fun how can we get through it in one piece? I think the interview process that you are involved in sounds like an incredible opportunity to gain insight as a clinician. We participated in a pseudostuttering project for our Fluency course and that helped to understand how a person who stutters feels, but it doesn't really give insight to how it feels for the clinician (which is what we will one day be!). I also like the idea of the monthly outings. There are 22 people in our class and we try to get together every few weeks to hang out and have FUN! That's what it's all about anyway, right?
