Hi Tom, Glad you found the paper helpful. Your comment on overt /covert is right to the point of my paper. Re Your question on giving back stuttering to psychologists: I'm sure there are many SLPs who manage stuttering therapy extremely well. My point is though the consistency of therapeutic results would be enhanced if SLPs are trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. At the very least I think it is a reasonable expectation that they be able to diagnose the extent of pws social anxiety disorder so that they may better determine whether they have the ability to manage the stuttering associated anxiety (and if not refer). This is a relatively easy process given the avalability of self-report questionnaires. Hope I'm continuing to make sense, Mark
