I enjoyed reading your sensitive and insightful article, Shinji. You have had a wonderful career helping Japanese stutterers since 1965. In 1969 my wife and I were in Japan and visited Sachiyuki Hamamoto at the Tokyo Speech Clinic, where we watched a group therapy session with teenage stutterers. We also met Dr. Goro Kamiyama, a stutterer who is (or was) the medical director and speech pathologist at the Tokyo Metropolitan Rehabilitation Center. Two students, Fumiko Chiba and Toshiko Iijima, showed us around the Center which was an impressive place. Did you ever know any of these people? Again, you wrote an excellent article and I thank you!
