Thank you for your question, Ann. It helps children if adults who stutter can show them how they live positively with stuttering. In Japan many people who stutter are in jobs which require a lot of public speaking, such as teachers, doctors, and even broadcasting announcers, actors and actresses. One of the members of our group will appear on the national TV program soon and her life will be shown as a school teacher who stutters. Two years ago, a TV documentary was made by a commercial TV broadcasting station featuring our summer camp for children who stutter and their families and broadcast nationwide. These help children who stutter to have a positive outlook on stuttering. Our group organized 19 summer camps so far and children who participated in the camps have proven the fact. The book I published last summer “Message to the Children Who Stutter” includes many positive messages to children, which has already sold 3,000 copies.
