I enjoyed this article because it really made me think about the consequence of your actions. In this article the little boy felt as if the teacher was telling him not to stutter. I can imagine how this would feel. Even thinking of being a student myself and answering a wrong question in class, if the teacher told me in a harsh way that I answered the question wrong I would definitely never want to answer a question allowed in class again. The best teachers are the ones that can tell you something is wrong but still make you feel good about it. I think it is very important for teachers to think about their actions and the effect it might have on their students. Teachers and SLP’s need to think further into every action and lesson they teach because you never know what type of negative impacts it could bring. I think to be a good teacher you need to be able to put yourself in every student’s shoes and try to imagine what they might be going through.
