Hi Sandra. Very informative article. Regarding my subject, I am reminded of a fellow grad student who uses the filler expression "you know" while speaking (either formally or informally) to the point where it becomes extremely difficult to interpret the meaning she is trying to convey. Do you see any indications that our profession might one day include therapy for normally fluent people who display high disfluencies, or are we only talking about breaking bad habits here?
