Sandra, Thanks for the excellent article. I really appreciated the response you gave in this thread concerning the three most important aspects to be observed when treating a PWS. Your key points were indeed very necessary for a SLP to keep in mind when devising a treatment plan for patients with stuttering diagnoses. I especially enjoyed your third aspect, 'managing the emotional reactions associated with stuttering'. A SLP can have all the knowledge in the world about tools to control the stutter, but without addressing the emotional issues associated with stuttering a PWS will not be benefiting to their full potential from your therapy. I was also very interested in your comments about the relationship between grammar and fluency, and between semantics and fluency. I will definitely be researching that topic from the references given in your article. Thanks again for the very informative and well-organized article. -Sarah
