Pam, thank you for sharing this wonderful article. I feel that you deserve a stuttering medal for all of your openness about stuttering and for sharing so much of yourself. I love how you say that once allowing yourself to stutter freely, “I was not struck by lightening, nor did I sink into quicksand.” Funny how we can get so wrapped up in our own stuttering stuff that we actually feel that the world is going to cave in if we stutter. You captured something very important when you stated that after joining the National Stuttering Association, “for the first time, I felt like I belonged.” You are a beautiful writer, I hope you keep on sharing.
