You're shared experience was touching. It really put in perspective, to a future Speech-Language Pathologist, how much community education is necessary and what a person who stutters has to deal with on a daily basis. I tried voluntary stuttering for my fluency class and it became so exhausting (as you described) to have to just THINK about stuttering and PREPARE yourself for speaking. I just wanted the whole experience to end. It really saddens me, though, to think that people (who do not stutter) are still this much in the dark. You're shared experience at least give me a better understanding how to work (in the future) with a person who stutters.
