Laura...good question. I think the answer is no. Even if the child is not feeling bad about the stuttering it's still can be a fun activity. I might change what I say, something like this,"Hey let's have some fun with our stutters,let's pretend we have a big stutter". Then I might model a big stutter and then ask the child to copy me. At this point I might add"OK now let's smash it so it's little, good you smashed it. Now it's little so let's make a little stutter". Here I would model a little stretch like Peter has talked about. Get my idea...there are lots of ways you could have fun with your stutters.
