The choice of fruit seems rather appropriate. I don't know any kids that enjoy the taste of grapefruit. Most of the people I know who like it, like me, only acquired a taste for it *eventually*. That might be where the taste enjoyment part of the analogy ends, but in all seriousness, I do agree with the others that this is an effective tool for getting the client to think objectively about how avoidances could really be perceived by those around them. Would it be weird to ask a client to actually try this in a semi-controlled environment?
