Ryan and John, I read your very well written paper with interest. It's refreshing to read what is a fairly objective paper on the SpeechEasy rather than the love/hate rants we all see in the popular press. The links between use of the SpeechEasy with traditional therapy I found to be particularly interesting. Certainly lots more research needs to be done in this area. Stuttering is SUCH an individual condition! .... I also found it interesting that you also found a positive link with stuttering and confidence. Yes indeed! I found a tremendous confidence-boosting effect in Toastmasters and my ability to communicate effectively. So I KNOW that confidence link is there - at least in my case. .... I enjoyed reading your paper very much. Good job! .... Russ Hicks, webmaster for the National Stuttering Association at www.WeStutter.org.
