I don't think that pretending like the SpeechEasy doesn't exist is a good idea. In fact, my colleagues and I first decided to become trained SpeechEasy providers simply because we were fielding so many questions following its initial release and media exposure. We preferred to operate from a position of knowledge and familiarity rather than ignorance. Subsequent to our training, each of us has been entirely free to utilize--or not utilize--the device within treatment as indicated. Whether or not a SLP decides to become a provider or not is her decision, but I would suggest study and introspection to the degree that one can at least comment comfortably on the matter.
