Hi Ryan & John, Before I read your paper I had virtually no knowledge of SpeechEasy. Now I am more informed and slightly dangerous – thank you for contributing! (And I now know what “axiolytic” means to boot. ) Your paper pointed out the importance of including the client’s impressions and perspective and that they are “paramount” in determining treatment. This seems to be woven throughout many of the papers in this conference and I couldn’t agree more – it is key to understand the client’s core belief system and what motivates him/her to strive for success in treatment. I do have two questions for you to consider, if you have time and don’t mind. First – I am curious what inspired you to pursue your doctorate and any words of wisdom you might share with those who might be considering this? Second & a half – you mentioned that you will be pursuing other stuttering research interests – do you mind elaborating? And seeing that you have involvement with the Dept. of Neuroscience, have you heard of transcranial magnetic stimulation and do you see potential utilizing this in stuttering research?
