My post: I am a grad student in SLP program. Thank you, for writing such a informative and well organized paper. It is wonderful to see all the research that is being done on this device. I did a lot of my undergraduate hours at a private practice that specialized in Stuttering. The SLP was a licensed provider and I gained a lot of knowledge from doing these observations. I saw first hand how it could help the users. One particular student I observed had such severe blocks that it took a half hour to say the word. After, the SpeechEasy he was like a different person. In a previous post you have mentioned that you did not find a link between the severity and the results of the SpeechEasy. From my observations, one client who was older did not have such good results as the younger client? SpeechEasy can provide a stutter with a way to expand their comfort zone. Even though, it helped this student I know such results are unlikely. I have two questions about the device: 1) Does the age of the user have a effect on its effectiveness? 2) Does the SpeechEasy have a effect on someone’s stuttering if they speak other another language? Thank you, for your feedback!
