First of all thank you for your informative research article. It is incredible that there is a reduction of stuttering as soon as the SpeechEasy was fit to the person. It seems to have helped the way people perceive themselves and increased confidence which is always a goal when working with an IWS. However, I do understand how it could cause some negative effects as well (such as the cosmetic aspect of the device). The research is interesting but it just goes to show that a device/cue cannot improve all situations. It is best when used with treatment. Also, as my professor says you must “fade the cue”. This clearly holds true when using this device as well. Thank you again for your article it is always great to hear about research on new devices because I’m sure I will be working with them when I complete my schooling.
