In my experience with the SpeechEasy, which includes the studies mentioned here as well as other interactions with a diverse selection of device users, I would agree that one's ability to wear the device is constrained by various environmental and personal factors. A major limiting factor is background noise, as you stated, Kyle. It should be noted that Janus Development Group has released an updated variant of the SpeechEasy, the Comfort Fit, that was designed in large part to reduce the background noise problem. This model was not available when we conducted our research projects, but research utilizing this newer model would be welcome.
