Thank you for this article. A friend of mine actually had a recent breakthrough related to this topic. One of her clients repeatedly said that he never stuttered outside of therapy, while in therapy he clearly stuttered. Clearly uncertain of why/how it was possible, the clinician told the client to make a phonecall. During the conversation the client clearly stuttered; howevere, when he was asked if he did, he said no. Clearly, there are various situations where listening to the client's actions is relevant. While some may be ashamed and conceiling their true behaviors, some may be completely unaware. THank you for pointing out and sharing this important factor with everyone.
