Stephanie Sometimes situations are so anxiety producing or the ego needing protection that it is easier NOT to acknowledge certain objective facts. In the first instance, if you've every watched yourself give a presentation that was important to you, I'd bet you'd notice a few things about your performance that you weren't aware of while you were giving it! In the other instance, sometime our brain is able to block things from our awareness (or our willingness to admit) because we feel they reflect poorly on us and we can't seem to help this behavior. In either case, learning to be able to talk about it in objective, rather than personal terms, can help a client (or anyone) work through and overcome this behavior. Hope that helps.. thanks for the question. Gary
