Andi: Thanks for your insightful comment and questions. I don't think I'd be that direct to "call out" a client, particularly a child. Other, less direct approaches might be to watch videos of others who stutter (like the DVD - Voice in Exile) and talk about the person in the movie who stutters and how he feels... or share some personal experience which are similar to what the child is experiencing. I think the "secret" is to get the other person talking on their terms.. how you do that depends on many factors and the skill of the clinician. Best of luck, Gary
