Kate: In my personal experience, sometimes I know I've had a block but can convince myself that it didn't look as "involved" as it felt. I'm sparing my own feelings.. suggesting that I believe that, because no one reacted in a negative way to my block, that it mustn't have been as severe as it felt. At other times we try to convince ourselves that something we're afraid of isn't really happening. Example, when my son was two, we went canoeing on Grand Traverse Bay off Lake Michigan. As I paddled, he kept looking at the water repeating, "Its not deep here; its not deep here." Even with a lifejacket, he was afraid of the water (even though it was less than 2 feet deep... with a VERY mindful dad in the boat)!!! Thanks for your post. Hope that clarifies it some for you.
