Hello Brian & Rosalee,My name is Fiana. I am a graduate student at NYU in Lee Caggiano's fluency disorder class. This article was very interesting to me because I am a bilingual speaker(English and Russian). Can it be possible that stuttering is caused by the high demands being placed on the child with parents teaching him 2 languages simultaneously and he does not have the capabilities to handle it yet? Also, should intervention first focus on the language the child is more fluent in? Do you believe that the Lidcombe program may be putting communicative pressure on the child to produce "stutter-free speech" since the parents are praising him each time his speech is free of stutters? Thank you so much for your time and all the helpful information you provided in your article.
