I loved this article, even though it seemed more realistically geared towards children. I am an adult PWS, non-SLP, who works in a school. I used to be very covert, now starting to be much more open with some co-workers. For example, I have shared with some that when I stutter, it is helpful to me if they try NOT to finish my sentences or fill in a word. I find one person in particular who will often share with me that she is very conscious of this when she's with me. She says she has to "try and not do it", as she says that she has always tried to help people out by doing that. Its kind of funny to me that she points out to me that that she is catching herself with me, to try and not do that. Maybe this is an indirect example of me having someone work on speech goals with me. I am not sure if I could ask a teacher to practice VS with me. It would be way too awkward. Again, thanks for an interesting perspective. -- Pam
