I think you've a lot of great ideas some of which I've used and some of which I'll have to try. I don't quite know how to define some of the parents in the rural area I lived in except to say that some of them (especially fathers) thought that therapy was for wimps, you could stop stuttering if you just tried, stuttering probably means you have "wrong" sexual values, etc. These are the same sorts of parents who believe the cure for stuttering is to send a teenaged kid out to get a job in a situation that requires a lot of talking so they'll stop their wimpy behaviors. I've tended to have better luck with mothers but it is often limited by the actions of the fathers. I don't mean to imply that most or even many of the parents I've worked with are this way but when it happens its certainly a trial for their CWS.
