Hi, thanks for your comments. I'm sorry that my comment struck in you in that way! I definitely think it's a myth that stuttering is always a result of anxiety. Many folks definitely have neurological blips that have nothing to do with psychosocial issues. I definitely believe in a mind-body connection though and have heard from many people that they have more trouble with speech, gait, etc. when stressed or anxious. From what we know of neurology, it makes sense that being stressed can make coordination and other tasks harder. But no, I don't think stuttering is always (or even more commonly...) related to anxiety. But I've definitely worked with people who feel this is the case for them. Thanks!
