Hi, thanks for the great question. Yep, definitely the areas you've mentioned. I also do Early Intervention work, where we definitely work closely together. Severe/profound special ed for sure; these schools usually have a music therapist and do a lot of MT and MT/SLP co-treats around communication and pre-language skills. Because of the motor-planning aspect of music as well as the sheer motivation factor, MT is great for getting people to use voice-output switches consistently, and we love having the SLP in the room during the session. Alzheimer's/dementia programs usually have SLPs at least on a consultation basis. Oh, I worked with SLPs on a brain injury unit. There are probably other applications I'm not thinking of or am not familiar with. Thanks!
