"For people who stutter, how do you generalize the signing into speaking in a daily living activity to prevent stuttering? Do they sign in public to start with or are they signing at first?" This has been answered already; please scroll through the threads. "For younger children are clients recommended to you or do they have to qualify for services?" I'm not quite sure what you're asking here; I'm willing to see anyone without a referral, and can do so since I bill as a mental health provider. If I feel I can't adequately treat them myself, I refer for a cotreat or a transfer to another type of provider. I'm not sure what you mean by qualifying for services; most people with insurance have some mental health benefits. To get MT on an IEP, the person usually needs a SEMTAP score that backs this up, or a school district that's willing to provide it on a short-term basis to see whether it's helpful.
