I was taught in my undergrad Fluency class that the reason people stutter is because their brain is programmed to attempt to produce speech through the right hemisphere of the brain, instead of the left. Since the right hemisphere is responsible for music, is it possible that music therapy could put the focus on creating music in the right hemisphere, causing a person's left hemisphere to focus on speech?
