Christina, thank you for taking the time to voice your recognition that we all need to make caring for our selves a priority, even when we are oh so busy and stressed graduate students. I used to think that taking care of myself meant eating right and getting regular exercise. Now I know that isn't enough. We need to take care of our minds as well as our physical bodies. In fact, if, in a ridiculous world, I was forced to choose between taking care of my mind and taking care of my body, I would choose to take care of my mind because I know what I think influences the health of my body. I would want to cultivate beliefs that I know will lead me to live the best possible life for myself and those with whom I relate. Thankfully, that choice is unlikely to be one any of us will need to face, and, hopefully, we will care for both our minds and bodies. How do we take care of our minds you might ask? By taking time daily, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, or more, to be alone and quiet --- to journal, draw, paint, or, better yet, to meditate. Now is a good time, Christina, to take personal time daily if you are not already doing so to learn to calm and steady your mind, to become acquainted with what it is thinking, and to let it lead you into living a bright, healthy life. My best, Ellen-Marie Silverman
