This article and the whole idea of StutterTalk is truly amazing. I am the person you mentioned in your article who does not stutter, yet is embarrassed every time I am forced to speak in public. Listening to some of your podcasts on the StutterTalk website and watching people who stutter talk about how they have stepped outside their comfort zone has made me realize the importance of doing so. It has become clear to me that if I want to be able to help people who stutter in the future I am going to have to learn to step outside my own comfort zone first. This idea of teaching people to view their stutter as an asset, and to accept and respect their stutter, is the type of treatment process that could be used for younger children who stutter as well. Learning from day one that stuttering is a gift could help young children before they start to feel like an outcast or ashamed of themselves and their stutter. After reading your article and the comments people have posted, it is apparent that you guys are changing people’s lives and really making a difference. How did you originally think of the idea for StutterTalk? Have you ever thought about gearing StutterTalk towards a younger crowd?
