Yes, as a child I often wondered - why me? Then, a point came in life when I realized that a picture has to have light and dark areas... If you wrote on a white board with a white chalk- nothing would be seen. Hence, for this world to go on and to make sense, "dualities" will always be needed. When, you understand the universal nature of this phenomena, you get freed of "my pain", "my stuttering", "my hurt", also of "my fluency", "my victory" too etc. etc. As a result, your speech does improve, since emotions and perspective associated with speech have changed radically. Every cultural tradition offers similar insights.. Recently, I did a Buddhist meditation course, and I found that it emphasized the same thing.. For you, all I can say, try to get to the deepest core of your Self in meditation - touch the untouchable and then return to normal consciousness, to speak the unspeakable.. Best wishes :-)))
