Hi, I am an SLP graduate student at NYU (Lee Caggiano is my fluency disorders professor). Like many others above, I'd like to thank you for sharing your personal story. After reading it and some of the questions regarding it, I found myself wondering about how therapy might be modified across cultures. Since therapy is generally a very western phenomenon, I know it's difficult for things like individual stuttering therapy and support groups to become implemented in society. So, what I'm asking is whether you believe it could be possible (or even a good idea) to take your personal journey and form it into a more socially acceptable, widespread practice for PWS in eastern countries (specifically Asia)? If you blended western speech therapy methodology with eastern religion and meditation, do you believe society could/would eventually embrace therapy for PWS? Thanks again.
