Hi Miranda, Thanks for the good questions. I'll start with an answer but my Turkish colleagues will need to provide more information than I have. Your second question asks if the current SLPs in Turkey are aware of this effort. I believe the answer is "yes." Why? Well, first, the newly trained Turkish SLPs are a tight knit group, mostly trained at DILKOM at Anadolu University in Eskisehir. You can visit the DILKOM website (http://www.dilkom.anadolu.edu.tr/ to see more about the training program. Click on the English version for a summary. Second, Seyhun coordinated a major conference in Istanbul during the summer (the International Clinical Phonetics and Linguistics Association) attended by many of these professionals. There were papers presented about the TUBITAK project. Third, there has been a good bit of excitement about the project in Turkey. Having said all of that, DILKOM is now at the public relations phase of the project wherein awareness must be increased among those who really could benefit--Turkish-speaking people who stutter, regardless of whether they live in Turkey, western Europe, or elsewhere. We hope that this paper will help in the effort to publicize this important resource. As I mentioned to Keith Boss, we have a lot of work to do!
