Joseph, "Pure stutterers" are those that have no other speech, language, learning, cognitive, motor, or severe emotional differences or disorders. I feel that they are a group of individuals that are unique in that they have no other issues impacting their communication skills other than stuttering. I certainly feel that they comprise a minority of the stuttering population. Thanks for the question, and I am happy that you are putting that computer to good use. I would love to hear from others in your group as well. For those of you who may read this and do not know what we are talking about. Our NSA support group in Lafayette, Louisiana raised some funds and sent two laptop computers to Afican stuttering support groups. Spreading understanding of stuttering can hopefully be made a little easier with access to the internet (and conferences like this!). I challenge other support groups to take on similar projects. ISAD is a good time to get started! John T.
