John and Jill, Thank you for this very insightful article. Nothing is more important than taking the necessary time to evaluate a client who stutters. My clinical experience (and personal experience) has taught me that if a client is truly going to make progress we have to understand the entire problem. I like to tell parents of children that have other issues that they are "neurologically sensitive." Sometimes parents get discouraged with all of the different "labels" the child is diagnosed with. The Stuttering Foundation of America also provides information about stuttering and various other disorders. Keep up the great work. Kristin
