I just want to start out by thanking you for sharing your clinical experiences with us. As a future Speech-Language Pathologist, I am always looking for new techniques for my "bag of tricks," in hopes that I will one day be able to use them and have a positive effect on a child's life through therapy. It is extremely important for a child to feel empowered during treatment, and by using different techniques during therapy, you are making the child feel great about themselves and the positive aspects of their speech. By decreasing negative attitudes and feelings, one is increasing the chance of a positive outcome during treatment. I have also read your book, "Fun with Fluency," and love the philosophy of a "whole-child" approach" where the child's feelings are addressed along with their stuttering. I am doing a presentation next week in class on the different approaches to treating a child who stutters and am extremely excited to share the fun with fluency approach to my colleagues in school. Thank you again for sharing your ideas with us, I really love your work.
