Hi Michelle- I think confidence boosters in older kids comes more in the form of effective counseling. Not only are these kids more mature but they are experiencing stutteirng on different level, with more social penalty. Most of these kids already have a keen sense of negativity with respect to their stuttering. I think it is important to empower them through counseling so they see that they do have choices about the way that talk, especially the way that they stutter. For these kids it is more about changing the negativity and with the little ones it is about preventing its occurrence. For school age kids I would refer you to the work of Kristin Chmela, her Focus on FLuency program through Super Duper is great and the Attitudes and Emotions workbook through SFA is a great resource.
