Ms. Walton, I loved your strategies for fostering positive feelings for young children! They are fun and young children, I'm sure, do very well with them. However I have a question about slightly older children, as you seem to work with a spectrum of ages. How would you adapt these strategies for a child who is stuttering and in early elementary school? This is a time when they probably need quite a bit of support as they develop skills in a school environment, but they need a different type of encouragement. I ask because I am a student SLP, and in Student Teaching I worked with a child at that developmental stage. After reading your article I thought particularly of her!
