Hello, I'm currently a graduate student at CW Post on Long Island. I just read your article, and found it extremely insightful. As a future SLP, my goal is to work in the school environment with young children. After reading your article, I realize that many parents will look for a "magic cure" to rid their child of stuttering. How would you handle a resistant parent? A parent that doesn't want to use therapy on their child, feeling that the stuttering will spontaneously disappear or a parent who doesn't believe therapy will help at all? Thank you!
