Thanks for your comments, Elena. As for the Speech Easy device, it provides 'instant fluency' to most people, but it does not teach the wearer anything about modifying his own stuttering. Even the makers of the device advocate that it be used in conjunction with regular stuttering therapy. It is possible that the stutterer may be able to gain enough confidence that he can 'wean' himself away from having to use the device. (I know of such cases).
