Many thanks for your heartening remarks, Lisa! I always like a combination of individual and group therapy, when possible. Individual therapy lets the therapist concentrate on one client, with attention to that person's specific problems, needs, and responsibilities, plus time for practice in making whatever behavioral changes the therapist requests. Group therapy is good because it provides social support and motivation, and enables the client to practice in a social setting some of the behavioral changes that he learned in individual therapy. So individual and group therapy are interactive and mutually beneficial---a win-win situation!
