Thanks for your kind remarks, Kristina! I'm not familiar with the intensive therapy program of Laiho and Klippi, but since 1945 I've seen many short-term intensive therapy plans come and go, so I'n naturally cautious. Some of them have included film clips or videotapes showing clients before and after treatment, and the almost-miraculous improvement in fluency leaves you goggle-eyed and your mouth hanging open. Yet a year or so later you try to find out more about that therapy system, and curiously it seems to have disappeared---but another one is coming down the pike, so hang on and hope! Obviously the best, most empirical thing to do when offered some impressive treatment technique is to try it and see what happens (with due regard for cost, availability, etc.) I know it can be confusing, with all the conflicting claims, theories, etc.,but keep on reading everything, talking to everyone, getting as much information as you can, and gradually, with experience, you'll begin to form your own opinions and preferences. Stuttering is a frustrating but fascinating problem, but real and permanent change is possible and it does happen. It has happened to me --- though the word "permanent" is somewhat relative, since I'm nearly 88 years old. But at least it has been permanent so far!! Best wishes to you, Kristina.
