Hi Berkeley - Thanks for the post. I'm afraid I haven't done a study to demonstrate conclusively that there are better outcomes with this approach. It's not really an approach in and of itself...just a strategy really... a clinical technique. I definitely teach parents to talk this way as well. To my way of thinking, gradations and degrees are always better than on/off, all-or-none. SO, I want the parents to think in these terms as well. Hope this helps! Thanks S
